During a period of reflection the congregation were invited to bring forward a palm cross and lay it down on the front edge of the platform. People were free to place the crosses however they wished but it quickly became a chain. One member of the congregation pointed out afterwards that it looked like a path of palm crosses, pointing towards and leading on to the Lent cross.
