Our Minister

My name is Doug and I am the minister at Palace Avenue.

We are in uncharted waters at the moment facing a situation the like we could never have imagined. We are beginning to realise how important the life of the church has been for us.

We are now trying to come to terms with how we maintain our relationship with God and also care and support each other through these stressful times. I’m trying to follow the old poster advice ‘Keep calm and Carry on’. It isn’t easy in all the turmoil and uncertainty but one thing that has helped me is the reassurance that flows from the Bible. A verse I turn to for comfort is Isaiah 43:1-2’ Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers they will not sweep over you.’

As I wrote at the beginning we are in uncharted waters but I firmly believe God hasn’t abandoned us. It is a time to keep calm and carry on trusting in God.

God Bless
