A group representing the Churches of Paignton and their friends visited Hameln recently and were warmly welcomed as guests in the homes of members of the Evangelical Lutheran Münster St Bonifatius of Hameln congregation and other church congregations in and around Hameln.

From the beginning it has been the purpose of such visits to encourage church families and individuals and friends of our two communities to have fellowship together and to form a lasting bond of friendship between us - many of us had previously experienced the warmth of German hospitality.  A programme of events was organised in consultation with our German friends and we were able to share outings to places of interest as well as enjoying social events together.  We also had the opportunity to watch the 'Pied Piper' play performed in the town by local townsfolk on the Sunday morning after worship.
